What We Do

Establishing what type of asbestos is involved, where the asbestos is located, and what form the asbestos is in determines the methods used to manage the removal.

Sampling of the suspect product is important as it is not always clear whether or not asbestos is present. We send samples to an Accredited Laboratory for analysis for asbestos content.

All asbestos work is to be Notified to MoBIE to ensure that correct processes are used to protect the client and the public, and of course our staff.

Typical Asbestos Removal Process

For asbestos materials located inside a building such as Ceiling Texture, Linoleum backing, Lagging and Insulation you can expect the following:
  • All furniture is to be removed from the area (in most cases)
  • Area is then isolated and fully enclosed in Plastic (tented) – in accordance with MoBIE requirements
  • Asbestos Material Removed by trained (MoBIE certified) staff using approved respiratory and safety equipment
  • Asbestos Material is Bagged using identified bags for Hazardous Waste Disposal – in accordance with MoBIE requirements
  • Independent Visual Inspection and Air Monitoring carried out in accordance with MoBIE Regulations
  • Receipt of a Certificate of Clearance from the Air Monitoring identifies that the area is safe for reoccupation
  • Area Cleaned and Plastic (tent) Removed
  • All Asbestos Waste disposed of at a designated refuse site for hazardous waste – in accordance with MoBIE requirements.

For Asbestos Materials located outside of a building such as external cladding, guttering soffits, decking, fencing, Super 6 or Super 12 Roofing material fully tenting the area and Air Monitoring may not be required, however proper handling of the asbestos material for removal and using approved methods for containment and disposal are essential. All Asbestos Waste must be disposed of at a designated refuse site for hazardous waste – in accordance with MoBIE requirements.
